Ryan knows that preserving our environment for the future while also ensuring our energy needs is a balance we can achieve through smart planning and the encouragement of new technologies. In fact, his commitment to achieving this goal has led to him being appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Local Government Advisory Committee, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Aggregate Advisory Board.
Legislatively, Ryan was the driving force behind a new Advanced Recycling law that will help our economy and the environment by allowing businesses to remove plastics from our waste stream and reconstitute them for other uses. He supports private sector investment and research into alternative energy solutions that will help keep our air and water clean.
Ryan also wrote and passed a law that allowed one of our local communities to achieve a "land swap" that allowed for better protection and maintenance of a local waterway.
