Ryan knows that preserving our environment for the future while also ensuring our energy needs is a balance we can achieve through smart planning and the encouragement of new technologies. In fact, his commitment to achieving this goal has led to him being appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Local Government Advisory Committee, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Aggregate Advisory Board.
Legislatively, Ryan is the driving force behind the state House's Advanced Recycling legislation that provides the ability to remove plastics from our waste stream and reconstitute them for other uses. He also supports private sector investment and research into alternative energy solutions that will help keep our air and water cleaner.
Ryan also wrote and passed a law that allowed one of our local communities to achieve a "land swap" that allowed for better protection and maintenance of a local waterway.
