As a graduate of our local public schools, Ryan understands that education is not something that works with a "one size fits all" solution - especially a solution developed by big government bureaucrats and insiders.
You can see this in his work as a State Representative, where he has supported initiatives that strongly support education, give parents a stronger voice in the curriculum their children are being taught, and help keep radical agendas like Critical Race Theory out of our schools.
He has voted to expand Education Improvement Tax Credits that help expand choice - especially for children trapped in under-performing schools, to improve early childhood education and special education, and to promote career and technical education.
Ryan has also supported efforts to reduce standardized testing and unnecessary mandates so teachers can focus on real teaching instead of "teaching to the test." He has worked to make college more affordable for working families - successfully pushing state colleges into two "no tuition increase" years in a row.
Ryan is also recognized as a statewide leader on workforce development issues. He has been a strong advocate for career and technical education during his time in the state House, and he has been an outspoken champion of career training programs.
